All of our Basketcase products (handbags, baskets and pattern cases) are uniquely made from only natural materials found locally in Madagascar; each item individually crafted using skills which have been developed and handed-down over generations. Our Madagascar suppliers have formed themselves into a co-operative for the making and trade of their beautiful products.

It is important to us that all our products and the environment in which they are made meet Fair Trade criteria. This means that no endangered species are used or damaged, products are eco-friendly and there is no exploitation of people or children.
