Last week was another busy one at Woolaballoo Hexham… We welcomed the exceptionally talented Lena Archibold of Lena’s Creations to host an Introduction to wet felting class for absolute beginners. It was so inspiring and tremendous fun was had by all. It is astonishing how a skein of Merino Tops can go from this…
to this (in such a short space of time)
and ultimately… ta dah! The final flat felted piece incorporated scraps of silk, fabric, neps and various oddments of yarn to create a gorgeous textured surface.
In the afternoon, the participants excelled themselves and created these beautiful 3D vessels. I think this could get very addictive…
We are now planning lots more workshops in the near future to extend our skills. If you are inspired and would like to take part in the next beginners workshop then give us a call on 0191 580 0103 or sign up online and reserve your place today. We look forward to welcoming you to Woolaballoo very soon. x
One of my 2013 resolutions is to update our web presence and our blog with far more regularity than in days gone by. Things have been very hectic of late what with the major expansion and relocation, not forgetting the birth of Baby Alice right in the midst of it all. I just wanted to let all you felters and spinners know that we are now stocking 100% Merino Tops in our Hexham store in an enormous array of gorgeous solid shades and blends. They are now listed on our website with lots of great images to show them off to its best advantage. Do let me know if there is anything else that you would like to see added to our ever growing inventory as we are always looking for new items to tag onto the Woolaballoo wishlist.
We are looking to run a series of needle felting, wet felting and spinning workshops in the New Year so do keep your eye out for the Spring Workshop Programme which will published shortly. In the meantime, why not pop in see the gorgeous new arrivals for yourself?! Happy crafting! x
