For quite a while I’ve wanted to run a workshop using up the colourful yarn oddments I’ve gathered after making a number of blankets in the past couple of years. I wanted to make something bright that used a mixed palette of many colours, but using only small quantities of each colour. I stumbled across this fabulous colourblock cushion by Attic24 which totally fits the bill. This is a quick, portable project that could be popped into my basket and taken with me on holidays and to work on in my lunch hour!
This project would be ideal as a next steps Crochet course as it requires limited skills but builds on your knowledge from our Learn to Crochet class. It would be ideal for anyone who has a basic understanding of chain stitch, dc, tr and htr. We will teach you how to follow a pattern and how to put the finishing touches to your crochet project.
We are planning on running this workshop on 2 consecutive Tuesdays in June – the 20th and the 27th from 7-9pm. We will cover how to construct the basic solid granny square, edgings and how to join the squares with a professional finish.
This project will be worked using a 4mm hook which you will need to bring with you. If you are a tight crocheter consider using a 4.5mm hook or if your work is loose perhaps try a 3.5mm hook. We will provide the yarn for you to make this project but if you have any oddments please bring them with you as each square uses just 3g of yarn approximately! We will also have the cushion inners available to purchase and a range of buttons to complete your project.
There are only 6 spaces available on this class so we do advise that you book early to avoid disappointment.
